EXERCISE BOOKS
In my work I examine the inclusion of visual traces of knowledge, closely linked to the series of mine Boards, in which I worked with the visual transfer of knowledge by traces. For this work I use my exercise books. The booklet ser ves to fix the knowledge, allows a recall of it.
We write dozens of exercises books through our studies - taking notes of what was said in class, copying the table, writing homework - in order to remember and to get more information. The booklets become full, for a time we keep them, and then throw away the ones that are no longer needed. We keep a small part of the content, and an even smaller portion is incorporated into and remain in our consciousness. Most of the time you will only need a booklet until that particular knowledge mat ters. Then we write a new exercise book full, our memories will be loaded with new information, a lot of the information is put into the subconscious.
In my work I reflect on the circulation of knowledge with a gesture. The old, inscribed booklets are being recycled. The notes recycled are from high school with the panels commemorating my past studies and I show my respect to those whom I could learn from.
